Phone manufacturers only have one chance to get it right

I got the original HTC Desire, hilariously touted by the tech press as an "iPhone killer." It only took a few weeks before the absolutely pitiful on-board storage was full and I ended up having to manually delete Facebook and Twitter data every few days just to keep the phone chugging along. Needless to say HTC provided just one Android update for the Desire, the memory couldn't cope with anything past Froyo. I switched to Apple and never looked back.

I have had several Android phones. During that time, I was a social pariah. People laughed at my phone; I couldn't get a decent job; girls wouldn't talk to me. One day, I was walking down the High Street and I had a religious experience. I was bathed in a white light, and a voice from the beyond the grave spoke to my inmost soul. That very day, I spent all my remaining cash on an i-Phone. From that moment, my life changed out of all recognition. I am now a successful man, marketing director for an international company. And when I walk down the street with my phone out, attractive women stare at me and lick their lips. I know that my redeemer liveth.

I notice that the guardian didn't post anyone complaining about Iphone. I have started to hear more than few people complain about them. An a few wondering why they are paying so much for a phone, when phones like Moto G are around and frankly they can't tell the difference between Iphone and Moto G. I suspect in the next couple of years we will see the amount that people are paying for phones drop. Which is going to be bad news for everyone, but especially Apple.
